I could see some bright light and high sound of television. It was hazy and everything was looking like in a dream. I tried hard and pulled myself a little up by the support of my elbow. It was my living room and I could see Bony sitting at the end of the couch and eating a sandwich. Jiya was on the bean beg sipping coffee. I could feel the headache and the loud sound of TV was adding to it. I stretched my jaws and said
“Hey you guys”
“Hey buddy, good morning” Boney said while eating his sandwich.
“Good morning, why am I sleeping on the couch and why the hell you guys are watching ‘Evil dead’ in the morning” I replied while looking at both of them and then the TV with a weird face
“Morning? Its 4 in the evening” Jiya replied
“What? But Boney said…” before I could complete the sentence Boney replied
“What, I am not English who would look into the clock before greeting somebody. I am Indian, if someone wakes up I say good morning with a smile” and he smiled at me
“Oh come on, is it really 4? I wasn’t that drunk” I said while getting out of the cover.
“No no no” Both of them shouted when I was moving the cover. I was not wearing any bottom. I was just wearing a long loose T-shirt.
“What the hell is this?” I covered myself as fast as I could and said in a high pitch. “And someone can you please switch of that movie, what is wrong with her why is she leaking mucous from her body, eeewww” Boney switched of the TV and said
“Do you remember what happened last night?”
“Sure, I do. We went to Priya’s house and then we all went to the coffee shop at the hill top and then we all came back to our place to watch ‘Evil Dead’. Wait that can’t be right; why am I drunk? Where is Priya? What happened?” I said while looking at Jiya with questions in my mind and expecting authentic answers from her.
“You are right till the coffee house” Jiya said and looked at Boney. They were quiet and it was killing me.
“What the hell guys fill me in” I said with curiosity in my voice.
“That’s what you said last night” Boeny said and started to laugh.
“Come on” I said with irritation
“Sorry, so we all were in the coffee shop sipping our favorites and discussing about the story of how you and Cherry were into each other long back” Jiya said as she understood my tone of urgency
“I remember that, you guys were pushing that I was in love with her and that too in front of my single girlfriend Priya, unlike you Mr. Boney” I said and looked at Jiya.
“What? Boney do…” Jiya couldn’t finish her statement and Boney said
“Never, in past 5 years, never. Shut up Parag"
“Ok I am sorry, what next” I asked
“It was getting interesting when the topic was on peak and we were discussing about the campfire where we all met with Cherry” Jiya continued and I interrupted by saying
“Wait, that reminds me I have to pee, close your eyes Boney, Jiya I am fine you looking at..." I removed the cover and ran to the bathroom. I came back with pajamas.
“I remember that. We were talking about Arjun’s farm house. I went to pee and now you know what reminded me of peeing” I said and winked at Boney and continued
***Flashback Start***
I was knocking the door of the bathroom and no one opened it. Then Cherry came from the back and said
“If no ones in there why are you knocking?” I looked at her and opened the door and what do I see an old man sitting on the pot.
“eewwww” we both said and closed the door
“May be he has hearing aid or something” I said and looked at cheery and both of us busted in laughter
“But I really wana pee” She said and I added “Me too, you know what; I know where we can go.” We went to the busses behind the house and did what we had to do. I mean pee.
We both went back near to the fire. I went back and sat next to Boney and Jiya. The place was good as I had a straight look at her. Now I could see that she is beautiful. We were into each other and then I walked to her and proposed for a dance. It was beautiful and she was really amazing.
***Flashback end***
"It was one hell of the night, you are right I was in love with her" I said with intimate voice.
"Oh really, then why did you told me that you never loved her and I am your one and only love" A voice came from behind and sure it was none other than Priya
"Hey honey, when did you come" I looked back and Priya was standing right there with red face
"When you were explaining the love of your life" Priya said
“But but, you heard the story already last night right?” I looked at Boney get confirmation and they didn’t do it on porpose to pull my leg as they knew Priya is standing right there. Boney gave me the smallest nod and I never understand his stupid sign language. So, I went close to Priya and said while looking deep into her eyes. “I am sorry honey, you are my love of life and I love you true from my heart” Priya smiled and said
“Great, it is the first time you said it after the proposal, feels good isn’t it” and she looked at Jiya. Anything which I would say might make her funny statement more meaningful and so I decided to jump back to the topic.
“Ok, so we were discussing about me and Cheery, then what?”
“Are you serious you don’t remember why we were discussing about you and Cheery?” Priya said. I gave it a thought for a while and then said
“Noooooo, I don’t” It was a prolonged no as I was still thinking about it.
“Enough, let me fill you in with it” Priya said.
“Fill you in” Boney said and they all laughed. I looked at them and then Priya said
“Right! So when you were in the men’s room, Jiya saw Cheery at the coffee house.”
“What? Nooooo, how?” I was all confused, how come she is here. “She was in Japan, isn’t she” I looked at Jiya and she nodded in no and I understood that it was told to me that she was in Japan so that I could relax a bit.
“Apparently the coffee house has been purchased by her dad and she got it as gift in her marriage” Priya said
“Cheery is married, oh man!” I said with disappointing voice.
“Why is that a problem?” Priya said with a bit of anger
“No no.. no no, not at all” I replied as a reflex and looked at Boney and Boney gave a crooked smile.
“Anyways, so Jiya saw her and she came to our table and we all met her. She was polite and smiling and then she asked” Priya continued
***At Coffee House Start***
“So how is Parag doing” Cheery asked
“He is doing fine” Jiya replied with a very tiny smile
“He is doing awesome in fact, Priya is her girlfriend” Boney added with her witty tone
“So is he also here?” Cheery asked
“Yes” Boney said. Then she went back to the kitchen and you came and sat next to me. You were really cuddly as always. I could sense that someone is looking at us and I guess it was none other than Cheery. Then Jiya started the topic of you and Cheery to summarize me.
***At Coffee House End***
“So, it seems like I remember everything before I had coffee and nothing after that.” I said while looking at all of them
“Yes, I guess. Unless you had smoked pot in the bathroom” Boney said and winked at me
“What? You said it is just once and last time in Vegas” Priya said with her high pitch. Before I could answer, Boney had to add
“So, you never told her why you broke up with Cheery, did you?” and he added his awful smile at the end.
“Will you please stop screwing my relationship” I said and looked at Boney “No, dear I don’t smoke pot.” I said while looking at Priya. She nodded a bit and then I continued
“There is only one person who would have explanation for this” I said and went to my room to get my mobile.
“Who?”Priya said
“Where do you think you are going without finishing this?” Jiya shouted. Boney went back to his sandwich which was left alone on his plate for a while assuming that I would take it up slow and later. I came back from the room and I called a number and said
“Hello”
“Hi, how was your night? I knew you would call me” Cheery said
“I want to know what you did. What did you mix in my coffee?” my voice was full of anger
“You know what then why are you asking?”
“Oh you are a terrible terrible person, I hated you then and I hate you now, and just that you know you have lost at least 4 regulars of you stupid little coffee house. Go to hell” I said and hung up the phone. I went to kitchen to have some water
“What the hell just happened? Who did you called? Why did you go to kitchen?” Boney yelled and jumped from his seat. He got supper exited now as suddenly it was interesting to him as it is bitchy now.
“I just wanted to have some water” I said
“Water is right here on the coffee table, can’t you see” He was talking in a loud voice and then he looked at Jiya and said “He is pathetic” and then looked at me and said “What? Don’t wait for me to ask again? Don’t?”
“Calm down jumping donkey, I know what happened. Sit down I will tell you and By The Way I called Cheery.” I said and all eyes were on me.
“You still have her number?” Priya said with really upset voice
“Yes, she use to get my friends some stuff every now and then, but once I came to know that she went to Japan I never called her” I replied back looking down at the ground to avoid eye contact with any of them. Jiya gave a slap at the back of my head and said.
“Thank god we told you she went to Japan”
“Who? What friends, we are the only friends you have. Face it!!!” Boney as always said to add awkwardness. I looked at him with red eyes and went back to the big picture
“Please look at big picture now.” I said and looked at Priya as to tell her, we will talk about it later and continued.
“So after Cheery and I met and were attracted to each other for a month or so, I found out that she was a drug addict. That’s right” It came as a shock to Jiya and Priya and Boney was like, Ya I know it all. So, Jiya said
“And you knew it all, didn’t you?” and looked at Boney. Boney look at the sandwich which was all done and just the left over scrabble were on the plate.
“Anyways, I tried hard so that she could quit smoking and drugs but I was not successful. Rather she tried that I should at least try once and I never did. So, I broke up with her”
***Break up start***
We were in a restaurant and just finished our lunch. I was all prepared with my speech and ready to break up. She said
“I will just be back from the ladies room” I looked at her and said
“I know you can never leave this filthy habit”
“I don’t want to, this is my life. I don’t do it every day and you know it.” She said
“I know, but I am sorry” I said and stood up and left. I could see that she started to cry and I wanted to give her shoulder but I had no other option but to leave
***Break up End***
“That was the last time I saw her” I said
“Didn’t she use to send you flowers and cards for like another 2-3 months” Jiya said
“For 8… that’s right 8 months” Boney corrected
“Yes, but then I called her and scolded her and it all got stopped. It has been 2 years now, isn’t it” I said and looked at Boney
“I guess she was still in love with you or may be jealous” Boney said
“Yes and that is why she added cocaine in my coffee last night” I cleared the air and it was pin drop silence for a minute
“But why was I half naked and sleeping on the couch?” I asked as that was the mystery of the night.
“Well now as we know that you had cocaine last night it is fine, as after your first coffee you kept saying fill me in as you wanted more.” Boney said
“I am a little relaxed I must say, I was worried for you honey. I though you have to live so many years to come with this guy, who dance naked” Jiya said and hugged Boney.
“What are you saying” I said
“So, you were all high and acting weird the all night and so we decided to quit the movie and come back home. But apparently you were in no mood to go back home, so you decided to take a dip in the lake” Boney said
“Noooo, that is a dirty lake” I said looking so befuddled
“In fact you jumped into the lake from the roof of the car. Then after we shouted and called you back for around 30 mins, Priya being a good friend decided that she will have to go into the water to get you out.”
“I am so sorry darling. But was I enjoying there?” I said
“Like a dolphin… yes” Jiya said
“Oh no, I am so embarrassed now” I said to show some courtesy to others
“So were we, as there were at least 15 people watching you dripping in the water and jumping like a dolphin” Priya said
“More like a small puppy chasing a ball or better his own tail” Boney said to embarrass me more
“Anyways so I pulled you to the corner and we all pushed you in the car, and we came back home” Priya said
“Thank god, so there was no more of weird thing that I would have done… in public” I asked
“Yup not after throwing up in the car and then tossing your favorite jacket to the girl in the crowed who by the was applauding for Priya for her bravery” Jiya said while looking down in the shame
“I am so sorry guys, you know it was not on purpose” I replied to clear my shoulder
“Well this is not it.” Priya said and I looked at her with eyes begging for pity and forgiveness.
“Once we reached home, you played the song ‘I am petrified’ and dance on that for 7 times, SEVEN” Boney said with irritation in his voice and continued “you… how should I say this, you undressed like a cheap stripper in a go go bar and I…I can’t tell him this” Boney said in his made up voice as he is shameful on his roommates act.
“Come on, aren’t you enjoin this you moron” I said while looking at Boney.
“Oh when you can enjoy stripping in front of not just your girlfriend, my girlfriend too I can’t make fun of you tell this story. Oh I am going to enjoy telling this like 100 times in coming years. Your kids will know and my kids would know, oh ya…” Boney replied with laughter and followed by Priya and Jiya’s.
“I will kill you” I said and asked him “How come I am wearing this t-shirt, this isn’t mine”
“It is mine and Priya forced you to wear this and we decided that she should sleep in your room and lock it from inside to be safe and we put you down on this couch. It was hard to cover you but we did it” Jiya said it controlling her laugh
“Priya when you convinced me to wear t-shirt, why didn’t you forced me with a lower” I asked
“You would think, oh my god” Priya said with embarrassment in her voice. I got up and walked to the balcony. It was not even a minute when Priya came and kept her hand on my shoulder.
“I am sorry Priya, I didn’t wanted to embarrass you. You know how much I love you and I let you down. For what one of my biggest mistake of life, Cheery.” I apologized to her for my bad behavior and she gave me hug and said
“You can never let me down honey. It was a bad phase of your life and it came back for a while. I can handle it, can’t I?” I nodded while keep hugging her
“Are you high again dude, because you are not suppose to make out in the balcony.” Boney said loud and Jiya added
“And People might applaud you know, if they see you two”

Well the fun of life is to be with friend like these who like you in any situation and would never be ashamed of anything you do. They will lead you to the right way and would never leave you. This day or I shall say night was not a one of the millions of mystery but a chemistry of me and my friends and I would remember it for life.
